Creatures guard the unknown
Rare resources and forgotten ruins often sit inside something else's territory.
Explore a layered underground world as a dwarven delver. Gather rare materials, study lost technology, build your refuge, craft stronger gear, and survive the creatures waiting below.

The Maw
The Maw is a sprawling vertical ecosystem split into distinct layers. Each layer serves as its own miniature world, featuring unique materials, creatures, and dangers to overcome. A deadly and magical place, the Maw is filled with the bones and crumbling ruins of previous explorers and civilizations. None have ever survived to reach the bottom.
Surviving requires more than just sword and shield. Each layer of the Maw has a storied past to discover and new challenges to overcome.
Every layer has its own biomes, resources, conditions, and visual identities. You never know what you will find next.
The deeper you delve, the greater the danger. New creatures, strange environments, and unique hazards make preparation crucial to survive.
As an explorer, studying the world around you is important. Analyze creatures, materials and ancient ruins to unlock new technologies and tools to aid your journey.
The Maw is a vast place full of ancient mystery. Only those that set out to explore every nook and cranny will discover all the secrets the Maw has to offer.
Creatures / dangers
Every layer has its own predators, warning signs, and reasons to turn back. Learn what hunts there before you become part of the ruins.
Rare resources and forgotten ruins often sit inside something else's territory.
New depths bring different behaviours, environments, and dangers that force you to adapt.
Tracks, remains, equipment, meals, and runes can decide whether you fight, retreat, or return stronger.
Study / runecrafting
Study turns discoveries into tools. Runecrafting, equipment work, and practical preparation are the bridge between finding something useful and surviving what comes next.
Materials, creatures, fragments, ruins, and old mechanisms are clues. Studying them reveals what can be built, repaired, or understood next.
Fit runes into equipment to shape utility, combat effects, and the way you prepare for each descent.
Turn what you learn into weapons, armor, meals, brews, tools, and a base that can support longer expeditions.
Mawforged is in active development. Exact interactions and later-game depth will continue to evolve through testing.
Concept art / visual development
These pieces help define the look of the Maw, from layered environments and ancient mechanisms to lower regions, landmarks, and the creatures that make each descent feel uncertain.

The gallery shows the Maw's layers, the relics buried in them, and the creatures and ruins shaping its visual direction.
